Donating appreciated stock or securities to the Tigger Stavola Foundation is often more tax-efficient than giving cash. When you donate stock you have held for more than one year, you may avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation and still receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value. We encourage you to consult your financial advisor to see if a stock gift makes sense for you.

How a Stock Gift Works

  • Identify stock you have held for more than one year that has appreciated in value
  • Instruct your broker to transfer the shares directly to TSF’s brokerage account (see transfer details below)
  • Do not sell the stock first — transferring shares directly preserves the full tax benefit
  • Notify us at [email protected] when you initiate the transfer so we can watch for it and acknowledge your gift promptly
