Gov. Phil Murphy announced Tuesday he will nominate a physician who specializes in addiction treatment and is an expert in child development to lead the New Jersey Department of Health. Kaitlan Baston will leave her position at Cooper University Health Care, where she leads the Division of Addiction Medicine and founded The Cooper Center for Healing, to take the $175,000-a-year state health commissioner’s job. Baston is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
